In 2013 Ultra Mega Technobandið Stefán released the album “!”. I made this idea for the cover in 2012.
The story behind this is that Siggi, the singer of UMTBS handed me a book filled with surrealistic art, and asked me to use it to make the cover. The album “!” has some heavy bits in conjunction with some weird bits - it’s a mix of weird, and soft, and heavy, and pop, growling and punk and techno and.. so surrealism made A LOT of sense.
I simply cut the whole book up with scissors and made this clip art picture. It has some very interesting/grotesque details.
I’m pretty sure this is breaking a lot of copyright laws, which is fine as we ended up asking Snorri Eldjárn to make us a cover which he did an amazing job of!
